Goodreads:  Anna’s job is simple: prevent the unexpected from happening and do everything better than perfectly. An artist at heart, Anna works a day job as a private assistant for Bambi Von Bizmark, a megarich Upper East Side matriarch who’s about to be honored at the illustrious Opera Ball.

Caught between the staid world of great wealth and her unconventional life as an artist, Anna struggles with her true calling. If she’s supposed to be a painter, why is she so much more successful as a personal assistant? When her boyfriend lands a fancy new job, it throws their future as a couple into doubt and intensifies Anna’s identity crisis. All she has to do is ensure everything runs smoothly and hold herself together until the Opera Ball is over. How hard could that be?

Kritters Thoughts:  Anna lives and works in New York City.  Her job is to complete all the tasks from her boss who is one half of a well known couple and they are set to be honored by the big name Opera ball.  With this honor comes a host of things which Anna will be responsible for completing!

I love a good behind the scenes kind of book and through Anna's eyes you see the inner workings of prominent NYC family and the ups and downs of their business and their marriage.  As my husband can say sometimes - "rich people problems" and there are times where I love that in a book.

I appreciated that a large part of the book was about her career and also her hope to jump start a side hustle with her art.  I felt as though the book lacked a little with the ins and outs of her relationship.  It didn't feel consistent throughout the book, it came in and out and I would have loved more consistency in seeing the relational side of her life in the book.

As an executive assistant I can sometimes handle personal things for the person I work with, but nothing to the degree of the character in this book, but there were many times during this book where I could relate in one way or another to the drive to get something done that seems near impossible!  I loved this book, it was a great escape from the current, hard news of the world.  Grab this book and be prepared to soar through the story quickly.

Rating: absolutely loved it and want a sequel
