Kritters Thoughts:  A few storylines make up this one novel and unlike other books, these storylines intersect real quickly.  The first is Detective Mickey Dolan who is returning from a personal absence as his wife recently left him for another woman and he needed a moment away from work to process the life change.  The other major storyline is this young girl who claims to be able to wake people up from comas and bring them back to the living.  This young girl's mother is working to help women escape abusive homes, but she is not using the most legal route.

I can't put my finger on it, but this one just didn't click with me.  I didn't love the characters and wasn't pulled in by the storylines.  I didn't mind the writing style, so I would definitely read another by this author, but for some reason this one just didn't do it for me.  

The one thing that I enjoyed that I stated above was that the storylines intersected quickly.  I loved that the author did not hold any secrets and instead of spending pages hinting at the intersection, it just happened and the story was able to continue and grow. 


Rating: enjoyable but didn't leave me wanting more
