Goodreads:  Frank Nappi's dark and daring new thriller, tells the story of Cameron Baldridge, a popular high school teacher whose relationship with one of his students leads him down an unfortunate and self-destructive path. Stalked through text-messages, Baldridge fights for his life against a terrifying extortion plot and the forces that threaten to expose him. Nobody Has To Know is a sobering look into a world of secrets, lies, and shocking revelations, and will leave the reader wondering many things, including whether or not you can ever really know the person you love.

Kritters Thoughts:  A creepy book that escalates from the first page to the last.  The story centers around Cameron Baldridge a young high school teacher who from the beginning is warned about the flirtatious ways of teenage girls and young teachers.  He does not heed the warning and is quickly mixed up in a web of lies, women and in the end loses it all.  What started as a book about illicit affairs ended with blackmailing and revenge - not a happy cheery book!

It was hard for me to read about this teacher who really sounded like he had it all laying in front of him until he started to fancy a young lady in his class.  There were a few times when he could have stopped it all, but he gave over to the passion and found himself in quite a mess.

But the mystery part of the book kept me reading until the end.  I wanted to know who was involved in the bigger plot and where he would end up.  I actually thought there was another person involved, but they ended up quite innocent (I can't share, but I sure hope this person had been involved in the plot in some way, would have taken the book to a different place.)

If you have trouble reading books that involve very inappropriate relationships, you may want to skip out on this one.  With only 200 pages to the book, it is almost a novella that packed quite a punch!

Rating: definitely a good read, but can't read two in a row

  2. P.S. For early December, Frank is donating all of the proceeds from the sale of 'Nobody Has to Know' to support recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy. His own community where he teaches high school English, Oceanside, was devastated by the storm.
