I received the following award twice last week and thought I would share, but I am only going to follow the rules once (sort of)! Thank you to Reading with Tequila and Minding Spot for this award.
The Rules:
When you receive this award, you must share seven things about yourself and then pass it on to 15 blogs you have recently discovered that you enjoy! (I passed it onto 7, a little bit of a rule breaker!)
1. Monogamous Book Reader - I can only read one book at a time. I try as I might, but I can only read one book at a time, it feels like cheating if I spend more time with one or the other!
2. Audio Killed the Paperback - I haven't tried but I just can't listen to books. It doesn't allow me to imagine each character the way I want to.
3. iPad Envy - I have read every review out there and I want an iPad more than any one's business. The thought of having a mobile bookshelf just makes me giggle!
4. Shopaholic Anonymous - It is true, I am a shopaholic. I have the need to spend money, whether it be clothes, shoes, books or groceries - I like to spend.
5. Library Card Hoarder - I officially have 4 current and active library cards, three surrounding counties and one in a different state. I have obtained each library card before I changed my drivers license!
6. Summer Lovin' - The season of summer is my absolute favorite - it starts with Memorial Day bbqs and ends with my birthday and labor day cook outs. Eat drink and be merry outside, by the pool or lounging on a friend's deck - I could stay in the summer all the time.
7. Behind on the Times - There are times when I may behind on the tech band wagon, but there are other times where I am right with the tech geeks that I love! Still figuring out this whole work Blackberry, but craving the iPad, does anyone see a hint??
The blogs I have newly discovered:
First of all, thanks for thinking of my blog! I appreciate it! : )
ReplyDeleteSecond of all, I was ALWAYS a monogamous book reader until I started reading on an e-reader. I now find that I can pick up and put down the e-reader really quickly when I have some "stolen" moments during the day. I can also carry it with me and sneak it in when I have down time (waiting). This has led me to start reading more than one book at at time. I found that it works as long as the books are WILDLY different. Though I usually find that one calls to me more than another and I neglect one book for the other books.
I'm also CRAVING an iPad but can't convince my husband that I really really need one. ARGH.
I'm also not big on audiobooks. I find my mind wandering and then I lose track of what is happening. I have been trying to listen to audiobooks when I do my daily walk and that seems to work better. Sometimse I literally need to force myself to pay attention though.
It was fun getting to know you better!
Congratulations on your award !!!
ReplyDeleteI too am a one book gal...would definitely get the stories mixed up and definitely #7 I am not computer savvy at all...
And thank you so much for passing this award on to me...so kind. I so appreciate it. Thank you again.

Thanks for the award! I don't do audio either. I've tried, but after a couple of minutes I start hearing what Charlie Brown's teacher sounds like..wah, wah, wah.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, and I love it since I have a addiction to books as well!!! Congrats on the award, its always great to receive one!! I am now a follower, looking forward to reading more from ya!!!
ReplyDeleteFeel free to check me out at my blog at Addicted To Romance
Thank you for the award! I missed it until now due to an over-zealous spam filter (grrrr). It was fun getting to know you!
ReplyDeleteI'm an audiobook reader, and always have at least two books going at a time, and I'm terrified of libraries :-). Good thing that there's room for all kinds of people in the world!
